The Specialty Equipment Market Association show more commonly known as SEMA has become an annual “staple” for anyone in the worldwide automotive aftermarket industry. Held every fall in Las Vegas, Nevada, this annual 4-day event attracts parts and equipment manufactures, specialty car builders, tuning/hot rod shops, race teams and car manufactures from around the globe. Even in these challenging economic times, this year’s show was an amazing display of what’s hot in the automotive world. Over the past few years “drift cars” have made up a large portion of the vehicles displayed as companies use them to help convey their cutting-edge style and overall company excitement and this year was no exception. What was different this year, however, was the inclusion of our very own DVM Mustang, which was placed in a prime spot. Our car was displayed directly in front of the main hall, right next to Maguire’s Car Crazy television stage.

“I’ve been coming to this show for years but this year having our car included in the Featured Vehicles section was really cool. It also was very helpful as it was the first time that many of our “marketing partners” have had a chance to see our car in person.” DVM’s driver Doug Van Den Brink said.

Also exciting for DVM was the sponsorship return of Dupli-Color spray paints. Together with Squires Turbo Systems and Vogtland springs, they played a pivotal role in enabling the team to have their car in the show. Also a big “Thank you” goes out to Falken Tires, who graciously provided transportation of the car to the event and StreetWise Motorsports for helping us with the final prep. With any luck, these companies will see some additional sales thanks to their added branding awareness at the show (purchasing agents, are you listening?)

Once at the show, everything went on without a hitch. Getting it there was a different story for the team only had 3-days to turn the car around after their last drift event in Ohio. Had it not been for the magicians at Brian Davies, Body Works Plus in Charlotte who did the most amazing 2-color, 4-hour paint job on it, the car would never have made it. Simply amazing work!

“It was a great show and I know all of our sponsors received more branding exposure. Every time Barry Maguire hosted an interview, our car was right in the background. So far I have seen over a dozen pictures of the car on different websites and every time I was near the car there were people taking pictures of it. Having the car there was very valuable for all of us and every bit worth all the effort it took to get it there.” Doug added.
