DV’s Thanksgiving Thoughts

2009 has been one heck of a year and I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to say thank you to everyone that I have worked/played/partied/slaved/hung-out with. For a year that has been so financially challenging for many of us (and still is I might add) there still was a whole lot going on and I can’t tell you how lucky I feel having friends like Ya’ll behind me.

I’ve got’n to do things this year that I would have never dreamed of. From sliding the Mustang around with some of the most talented drivers I have ever seen…

To driving down an airport runway at 160mph with a wall of flame on one side of me and an airplane on the other, all the while seeing another car and plane heading right toward me at with a closing rate of over 320mph…And then, hopping out and having my picture taken with not only one of the most genuine and giving individuals I’ve ever known, but one of the most iconic men in the history of the automobile… I’ve seen sunsets that would take your breath away…And had peaceful walks around places some folks might consider as “heaven”..What can you say about a company like Jaguar and their incredible staff that hires you to slide… oops, I mean drive smoothly, their $100,000 cars around some of the coolest racetracks in the country along-side guys who’s illustrious motorsports resumes are only eclipsed by their graciousness towards others…It’s been a year when at times I felt like I was all the way at the bottom looking up and then a few weeks later, up towards the top, looking down…

As I said, this has been one heck of a year and these memories are only a few that I have from these amazing few months. And please let us all remember that the things we have all enjoyed in our lives over 2009 is in large part due to the fact that guys like my buddy Tommy Woods and his Green Machine compadre’s are over in a dry desolate land, “laying it all on the line” chasing bad guys down to make sure the less fortunate have a chance at a better life…

So to all I say thank you all for an unimaginable year. I hope this holiday season is filled with visits or calls from all of you and I look forward to even bigger and brighter things to come….. down the road…

Happy Thanksgiving everybody….
