1980: In his first car race ever, at the age on 7 years old Doug won the “Pole” qualifying position at the Pomona Valley Speedway driving a 1/4 Midget on asphalt.
1988-89: Competed in Enduro and Sprint Karts. Recorded 5, top-10 finishes in 100cc, 135cc, 250cc, and 300cc open classes.
1989: Won Southern California Autocross Championship in N- Modified.
1991: Selected as a member of the “Top-15″ Drivers to compete in the famed Elf Winfield annual Formula Renault Drivers Search in LaCastlet, France.
- Competed in the Skip Barber Winter Formula Ford Road Racing Series.
- Placed 7th overall in championship out of 140 competitors and was top point scoring “Rookie” in the series.
- Recorded new lap record at Sebring International Raceway.
- Of 12 races competed, recorded 3 wins and 5 fastest laps.
- 2-day Test for Crown Racing in a NASCAR Busch Grand National car at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Best lap equaled top-20 qualifying spot for that’s years race.
1992: Competed in the Skip Barber Winter Formula Ford Series, placing 5th in championship, out of 125 competitors.
- Won Most Improved Driver Of The Year.
- Out of 12 races competed, recorded 3 wins and 3 fastest laps.
- Later that summer while competing in the Skip Barber Mid-West Formula Ford Series, Doug placed 2nd in the point’s championship, recording 9 wins and 13 fastest laps. He also received the “Hard Charger Of The Year” award.
1993: Of over 350 entrants, Doug was selected as one of “10-Finalist” in the Bel-Ray Lubricants Formula 3 Driver search in Toronto, Canada.
1994: While having near zero stock car racing experience, of the fourteen “Pro-Division” Legends Car races competed, Doug recorded 11 top ten finishes.
1995: Became the AC Delco Legends Car Pro Division National Champion as well as placing 2nd in the Central Carolina Divisional point’s race.
- The 1995 Most Improved Driver Of The Year (as voted by fellow drivers).
- Of the thirty-two races competed, finishes include 6 wins, 5 seconds, 9 thirds, 9 other top tens, and 7 Poles.
1996: Legend Car finishes tallied 18 top 5′s including 2 wins in Charlotte Motor Speedway’s nationally televised “Summer Shootout” series and 7th in the year-end “National Championships”.
1997: Doug competed in 20 legends Car races, including 10 in Florida in the Regionally televised, “Winter Shoot-out Series”. His finished the season with 5 victories and 10 other top 5′s and 2 top 10′s.
- In the 97′ Summer Shoot-out Series Doug finished 4th overall in the Pro-Division Points Championship.
1998: Doug competed in Dirt Track Legends Car races. He finished no worse than fourth the entire year, and was able to achieve his first victory in only his forth race on a dirt track.
- In his one and only 98′ Summer Shoot-out appearance, Doug finished in 10th in the 20 lap event after starting 21st.
- At season’s end, Doug had accumulated enough points to win the North Carolina State Pro-Division Dirt-Track Points Championship for Legends Cars.
1999: Doug competed in three Hooters ProCup Series events driving his own immaculately outfitted #19. At the first race at South Boston he qualified 26th, at the second race at Caraway Speedway he qualified 23rd. His 3rd race held at USA Speedway in Lakeland, FLA. He qualified 27th out of 58 cars. In the first two races while heading towards the front, he had to retire do to an overheating engine. At Lakeland the car was retired in 25th place do to an oil system failure. Competed in two Legends Car races, winning one and finishing 8th after starting 34th in the 30-lap National Championship race.
2002: Research & Development Test driving of new NASCAR Late Model Stock cars for Stewart Motorsports & Dingo Racing.
2003: Competed in two Mini-Sprint Dirt Car races, winning one and finishing 3rd in the other.
- Competed in NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Hickory Motor Speedway.
2004: Competed in 3 grass-roots level Drift Events finishing 4th, 8th, 25th and 17th
2005: Finished tied for 2nd in US Drift National Points Championship.
2006: Finished tied for 5th (missed 1 event) in US Drift National Points Championship.
- Won GT Live Drift event at Virginia International Raceway.
- Finished 6th in Formula D Pro-Am Regional Finals.
- Won Formula D Pro-Am Nationals
2007: Qualified and competed in four Formula Drift Competitions becoming the series highest placing rookie (20th) in his first ever event at Long Beach, CA.
- Won the GT Live Drift event at Virginia International Raceway for the second year in a row.
2008: Competed in two Formula Drift point’s competitions placing a career high, 17th at Englishtown, NJ. This event was a “heartbreaker” as Doug was only ½ a point out of the “Top-16″ when judged on the 0-100 scale.
- Placed 5th at Pro-Am Qualifier held at Virginia International Raceway.
- Won the Elite Summer Nationals drift competition in Spartanburg, SC.
- Finished second in Dayton, OH at Street Live III.
- Finished the year off with a 5th place finish at the Red Bull Pro-Am in Long Beach, CA.
2009: Competed in three Formula Drift point’s competitions, coming within a whisker on making it into the top-16
2010: Competed in two Formula Drift point’s competitions just missing Top-16.
- Qualified 1st and Won the South East Drift Association Pro-Am in Jefferson, GA.
- Competed in three Xtreme Drift Circuit events, qualifying 1st and Winning at both Summit Point, WV and Ft. Worth, TX.
2011: Doug ran a limited schedule in both the Formula Drift Pro-Am Series and the Xtreme Drift Circuit where he posted 3-wins, 3-Poles with only one finish out of the top-3 in 7-events.

Special Note: From 1991 to 1998, with many of the races being started by inverting the front of the field, Doug was passed on the racetrack only 22 times in147 races.
