Wilwood Disk Brakes will be continuing their support of my racing ventures as they join Colten Miller and myself in our new Dirt Late Model program. Having driven Wilwood-shod cars now for most of my career, I feel very fortunate for them to be including me in their marketing efforts going into 2022.
In talking to my many driving-students that ask me about, “how to get a sponsor”, I tell them it’s all about cultivating relationships. To me the keys to this are working with top-quality companies that produce products you can stand behind and making sure the people in these companies are enjoyable to work with and are great at what they do.
All of the above, categorize my 15+ year relationship with Wilwood Disc Brakes. Their products have been on my cars for more years than I can remember and I can’t tell you how pleased I am that Mike Hamrick and his team have signed onto this new Dirt Late Model program.
In a racing segment that they are so clearly dominant, having the same quality products as some of the bigger-named teams in the sport puts us in a very fortunate situation. For Wilwood to be supporting our team, really means the world to me and I know we’ll have all of the braking-performance that we could ask for. Their great group of sales, technical and support staff mean I will never go without a part I need or have a brake question that can’t be answered.
Adding their products to our program means I will have the same brakes as the sports elite teams do and most importantly, I will have the opportunity to continue working with a performance-brand that really gets it in terms of product development, customer service and commercial-exposure. Besides the dirt-car, I’ll also continue running Wilwood products on my vintage stock car so we’ll have a chance to help spread their marketing-message to that arena as well.
I’m really excited to be running their amazing products as I look forward to sharing a few trips to Victory Lane with them again soon…
